Open Waters Solar Named Top 10 Finalist at Frontier Collective’s Vancity Innovation House Pitch Competition During Web Summit Week
VANCOUVER, BC, May 2026 — Open Waters Solar is proud to announce its selection as a Top 10 finalist in Frontier Collective’s Vancity Innovation House pitch competition, taking place during Web Summit Vancouver on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
The competition features some of the region’s most promising emerging companies, with finalists competing for a $20,000 grand prize and the opportunity to showcase their innovations to investors, industry leaders, and the broader technology ecosystem.
This recognition follows closely on the heels of Open Waters Solar’s recent win at the prestigious Beaver’s Den pitch competition, further building momentum for the British Columbia-based cleantech company as it expands awareness of its advanced solar technology solutions for marine and mobility applications.
“While awards are always appreciated, the greatest value from events like these is the visibility, relationships, and ecosystem engagement they create,” said Niki Kearl, Chief Revenue Officer at Open Waters Solar, who will represent the company in the pitch competition.
Open Waters Solar’s Chief Commercial Officer, Tony Olynyk, will also be in attendance throughout the week as the company participates in additional Web Summit events, including the VIP Evening Reception and ClimateGlobal2026.
As a Canadian innovator focused on durable, high-performance solar solutions engineered for mobility, Open Waters Solar continues to gain recognition as part of the country’s growing hardtech and clean technology ecosystem.
